Don’t Turn The Other Cheek…FIGHT!

…and that’s exactly what he did. He was born 13 and a half weeks prematurely. In the neonatal ICU, Caucasian males are known as the “wimpy white boys” because of the fight that many of them have to go through to survive. The boy fought so well. (He’s got the fighter gene in him. He and his mother will always be close due to their battles.) When he was born, his brain was bleeding. And not just a little bit, it was graded as the worse kind. My little boy was having a stroke and there was not a dang thing I could do about it. You talk about a frank conversation with the God of the universe. Who was HE to put my son through this?!?!?! (I found out EXACTLY who HE was.)

Today, Hudson,….I love you, Hudson. The boy makes me proud to be a dad. He will have it tough for awhile to come. We may not know the extent of his issues from that brain bleed for a little while. But for now, he has a brace for his left leg that will help with physical therapy in bettering his walking ability. He doesn’t like it. He wants to fight it. My son has been through so much already. From birth. He has fought and will continue to fight. And I vow to be the dad that has his son’s back!

Fist-bumps to you Hud!
